What this degree describes
Wood that has turned entirely to stone, in a landscape now too dry to have grown it. This degree holds an ocean of time compressed into geology, life that lived, died, and was slowly replaced mineral by mineral until only its exact shape remained, hard where it used to be pliant. Pisces spends much of the zodiac dissolving; this degree shows the opposite motion, softness gradually crystallizing into something that will now outlast the very desert around it.
