THE SYMBOL
“Deep-sea divers descend below the surface light, working in dark, pressurized water.”
Scorpio 7° · Sabian symbols, devised 1925 (Marc Edmund Jones, clairvoyant Elsie Wheeler)
Remember to round up: a planet or point at 9°30′ takes the 10° symbol, not the 9° one.
What this degree describes
This is Scorpio's own imagery in its most literal form: going under, past where light easily reaches, doing real, trained work at a depth most people never choose to enter. The descent is not reckless, it is equipped and deliberate, a decision that the valuable work actually happens below the surface everyone else stays at. There is professional discipline in it, not just daring, the difference between drowning and diving being almost entirely a matter of preparation.
When a planet or point falls here
A planet here often shows comfort and real skill operating in genuinely deep or high-pressure territory, psychological, financial, sexual. Pluto or Saturn can indicate real expertise doing work most people avoid because it is too far down to be comfortable.
What are you currently equipped and willing to go get, that most people around you would not follow you down for?
