What this degree describes
Pure, uninstructed effort meets an element that doesn't cooperate: the child hasn't learned yet that fish are fast, that hands alone rarely work, and reaches anyway, undiscouraged. This is Cancer at its most elemental, water as the medium of feeling itself, and a very young, very direct attempt to grasp something that lives entirely inside it.
